Three dances written at Chippenham Festival 2004 with Pete Coe and Eddie Upton running two dance writing workshops
This dance was devized out of some necessity as a 5 couple dance - we only had enough couples and one gent was braving a bad knee even then. The stimulous was merely to think of a move that was just a bit different. It leave people watching unless they spot where the gaps hang for a few bars and nip across. But sometime we are thankful for a bit of a rest.
It was eventually found that this dance works best as a hornpipe (hop step) because it gives more time. The upshot is that there was little else suggested for the title. It does exactly what it says on the tin...............

Five couples in a Longwise Set.
A1 Strop the Wallow 1  
1-4 

 Man 1 right hand turn with Lady 3 (1 1/6) and on to LH turn Man 5
at the same time Lady 5 RH turn Man 3 (1 1/6) and onwards to LH turn Lady 1.

5-8  Man 1 returns via a RH turn with Lady 3 to place
at the same time Lady 5 returns via a RH turn with Man 3 to place
A2 Strop the Wallow 2  
1-4  Lady 1 right hand turn with Man 3 (1 1/6) and on to LH turn Lady 5
at the same time Man 5 RH turn Lady 3 (1 1/6) and onwards to LH turn Man 1.
5-8 Lady 1 returns via a RH turn with Man 3 to place
at the same time Man 5 returns via a RH turn with Lady 3 to place
